At Renishaw, we have spent over 50 years engineering change. Our company was first established in 1973, by Sir David McMurtry and John Deer. Renishaw’s first product, the touch-trigger probe, was invented by Sir David to solve a specific inspection requirement for the Olympus engines used in the Concorde aircraft. This innovative product led to a revolution in three-dimension co-ordinate measurement, enabling the accurate measurement of machined components and finished assemblies.
In 1981, Renishaw’s first international expansion began with our subsidiary in Chicago, Illinois. Today, we have locations in 36 countries with 5000+ employees worldwide. We design and develop systems and solutions for complete precision, control, and reliability. Our metrology products help transform your manufacturing output, significantly reducing the time to produce and inspect components and keeping your machines running reliably. In the fields of industrial automation and motion systems, our position measurement and calibration systems allow builders to manufacture highly accurate and reliable products.
We are also a world leader in additive manufacturing (also known as metal 3D printing). We design and produce compact machines that ‘print' parts from metal powder. From transport to agriculture, electronics and healthcare, our breakthrough technology transforms product performance.
Our commitment to investments in people, product development and production capacity, are all underpinned by a commitment to be a more sustainable organization, to ensure we continue transforming tomorrow together.
