PSN Labs, based in Erie, PA, is a diverse, full-service engineering firm specializing in a wide range of industries and services. Our cutting-edge 16,000-square-foot facility houses a Product Development team, a Testing and Analytical Laboratory, and a Material Development, Compounding, and Processing Center.
With an average of 15 years of experience, our team of 40 scientists and engineers collaborates with clients ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies worldwide.
Our Journey: Our story began in the early 1990s with Dr. Paul Koch, founder of the Plastics Engineering program at Penn State Behrend. Combining years of industry experience with his passion for education, Dr. Koch created Plastics Services Network to tackle manufacturing and design challenges in plastic products.
In 2006, Dr. Koch partnered with Michael Alabran, forming a fresh and innovative leadership team. Together, they expanded Plastics Services Network’s capabilities, growing from a small team of four engineers focused on plastics into a company offering comprehensive engineering solutions.
By 2011, we had outgrown our rented space and moved into a facility that allowed us to integrate product development, testing, and material processing under one roof.
In 2015, Michael Alabran became the sole owner and President of the company after purchasing it under the name Advanced Solutions Network, LLC.
Since 2017, our team has grown steadily, with at least five new members joining us each year. We’ve also achieved consistent annual sales growth of 20-50% while investing in new equipment, implementing innovative processes, and expanding the range of services we offer to better support our clients.
As part of this growth, we further enhanced our testing lab and proudly earned our ISO/IEC 17025 certification. By 2023, our reputation for exceptional testing services had grown so strong that we rebranded for the final time as PSN Labs, LLC.
During this time, we also expanded our manufacturing and engineering services and earned our ISO 13485 certification for medical molding.
* What’s Coming in 2025? * We have some exciting developments on the way! Our ISO 13485 certification for design services is in progress, and we’re also preparing to spin off our manufacturing services into a sister company, PSN Manufacturing, LLC.
This move will free up space in our current facility, allowing our testing and engineering departments to continue growing and expanding their services. It will also provide us with the space needed to serve our clients all the way through the manufacturing process, offering a seamless experience from concept to production. We’re looking forward to this new chapter and the opportunity to further strengthen our capabilities.
